The Moroccan Forensic & Law Journal (MOFORL) is committed to protecting the integrity of the scientific record and does not tolerate plagiarism or other forms of inappropriate duplication.
All manuscripts submitted to the journal must represent original work. Authors must appropriately acknowledge and cite the ideas, words, data, figures, tables, images, or other material originating from previously published or unpublished sources.
Authors should also avoid inappropriate text recycling or self-plagiarism, redundant publication, and duplicate submission or publication.
Manuscripts submitted to MOFORL may be screened using plagiarism-detection and similarity-checking software, either during initial editorial assessment or at another stage of the editorial process.
A similarity percentage alone does not establish plagiarism. Any similarity identified will be evaluated in its context by the editorial team, taking into account the nature, extent, source, and appropriate attribution of the overlapping material.
When minor inappropriate textual overlap is identified, authors may be asked to revise the manuscript, appropriately paraphrase the affected material, and/or provide the necessary citations.
When substantial plagiarism, inappropriate duplication, or serious publication misconduct is identified in a submitted manuscript, the manuscript may be rejected.
If plagiarism or significant duplication is discovered after publication, MOFORL will investigate the matter and may take appropriate editorial action, including publication of a correction, expression of concern, or retraction, depending on the nature and severity of the issue.
Where serious misconduct is suspected or confirmed, the journal may contact the authors’ institution or other appropriate authority when warranted.
Allegations of plagiarism and other publication-integrity concerns will be handled in accordance with recognized principles of publication ethics, including guidance from the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
Authors remain fully responsible for ensuring the originality and integrity of all material submitted to MOFORL.
