The Moroccan Forensic & Law Journal (MOFORL) is committed to maintaining a rigorous, fair, independent, and confidential peer-review process.
All submitted manuscripts undergo an initial editorial assessment to determine whether they fall within the scope of the journal, comply with the journal’s submission requirements, meet basic standards of scientific and ethical quality, and are suitable for further evaluation.
Manuscripts that do not meet these requirements may be returned to the authors or rejected without external peer review.
Manuscripts considered suitable for further evaluation are normally sent to at least two independent reviewers with appropriate expertise in the subject area.
MOFORL uses an anonymous peer-review process in which the identities of reviewers are not disclosed to the authors. Reviewers are expected to evaluate manuscripts objectively, fairly, constructively, and confidentially.
Reviewers must declare any actual or potential conflict of interest that could affect their impartiality and should decline the review when an appropriate independent assessment cannot be ensured.
Submitted manuscripts and all associated materials are considered confidential documents. Editors and reviewers must not disclose, discuss, reproduce, or use unpublished information contained in a manuscript for personal or professional advantage.
Reviewers must not upload submitted manuscripts, figures, data, or supplementary materials to generative artificial intelligence systems or other external tools where confidentiality cannot be assured, unless explicitly authorized by the journal.
When revision is requested, authors should provide a revised manuscript together with a detailed response addressing the reviewers’ and editors’ comments. Submission of a revised manuscript does not guarantee acceptance.
Revised manuscripts may be returned to the original reviewers or assessed by the Editor-in-Chief or an appropriate member of the Editorial Board, depending on the extent and nature of the revisions.
The final decision regarding publication rests with the Editor-in-Chief and/or the responsible academic editor, based on the scientific quality, originality, relevance, ethical acceptability, reviewers’ assessments, authors’ responses to requested revisions, and suitability of the manuscript for MOFORL.
Editorial decisions are made independently and are not determined solely by the recommendations of individual reviewers.
